**Location & Access:**
The Raccoon Lake boat ramp is located at the north end of Country Club Road (off State Route 161 East) in Centralia, Marion County. This facility serves as the primary public launch point for the 2,060-acre lake and accommodates kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and other small watercraft.
**Lake Conditions & Recreation:**
Raccoon Lake stretches roughly 11 miles with an average depth of 24 feet (70 feet near the dam). The lake features a strict 5 mph speed limit, making it ideal for paddling and non-motorized recreation. From the ramp, paddlers can head south/southwest into the main lake or explore northeast up Ramp Creek for a quieter experience away from busier areas. Year-round campsites line the road near the launch site, and several scenic overlooks and historic landmarks (including the 1800s Payne Cemetery) provide points of interest for paddling routes.
**Paddling Opportunities:**
A moderate 1.5-mile route starts at the main boat ramp and circles the south shore of the peninsula, passing multiple vistas and scenic overlooks—a good introductory paddle for various skill levels.
