About This Access Site
Ramp D provides access to Lake Edgar A. Brown, a 100-acre impoundment on Turkey Creek near Barnwell in Aiken County. This single-lane boat ramp offers a straightforward launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility includes dirt parking and is handicapped accessible, making it a welcoming option for paddlers of varying abilities.

Lake Edgar A. Brown supports recreational boating, fishing, and water activities. The lake holds largemouth bass, bluegill, shell-cracker, and catfish, making it popular with anglers. The 100-acre lake is calm enough for paddling and suitable for casual boating. Multiple access points exist around the lake—additional ramps are located at the north and south parking areas off Wellington Road and at the far north end near Black Road, providing flexibility if one ramp is congested.

The site is located southeast of Barnwell on County Road 57. Nearby amenities include Fuller Park across the highway and walking trails around the lake, making this a good option for a half-day paddling or boating trip in the area.
