Rayburn Park (South)

Rayburn Park (South) provides boat ramp access to Sam Rayburn Reservoir, Texas's largest entirely in-state man-made lake at 114,000 acres. The facility features a concrete two-lane ramp capable of handling all boat types, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and larger vessels. This is part of the Sam Rayburn Marina Resort area, which offers year-round access to the reservoir.

The reservoir sits in the scenic Big Thicket region of East Texas, characterized by diverse native flora and wildlife including orchids, insect-eating plants, and numerous animal species. While this is a recreational destination, paddlers should be prepared for lake conditions rather than river paddling. The facility is non-reservable, so arrive early during peak periods. Additional amenities in the area include a swim beach and playground, making it a family-friendly option for a day trip or longer outing on the water.
