About This Access Site
Red Bluff Dam Park provides access to the Pecos River and Red Bluff Reservoir, located right on the Texas-New Mexico border near Angeles, Texas. This facility offers a convenient launch point for boaters and paddlers looking to explore the reservoir and surrounding Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area. The site is free to use with no reservations required, and visitors are welcome to stay up to 14 days. In addition to water access, the area provides camping, picnicking, fishing, and wildlife observation opportunities.

**Important Launch Details:** This location does not have a paved boat ramp—boats are launched directly from the shore. Paddlers and boaters should plan accordingly for hand-launching kayaks, canoes, and smaller vessels. For a developed ramp facility, the New Mexico side of Red Bluff Reservoir also has a public access boat ramp. The site is located at the dam off US Highway 285; from Loving, New Mexico, head south on US 285 for 21.2 miles and turn left onto Catfish Road, following it 2.7 miles to the Pecos River.
