Red Bluff Landing, also known as the Danny Knight Boating Facility, is a well-developed access point to the Waccamaw River located in Longs, Horry County. The facility features a two-lane concrete boat ramp, a floating dock, and a large parking area—making it a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The site is easily accessible from Highway 31E.
The Waccamaw River is a large, relatively gentle waterway suitable for a range of paddling abilities. With an average flow of approximately 1,971 cubic feet per second and a modest gradient of 0.3 feet per mile, the river moves steadily but predictably. At this location, paddlers can expect a large river environment with an average velocity around 2.3 feet per second. The river stretches 145 miles from this area to its mouth, offering extended paddling opportunities through the Atlantic Coastal Plain. Additional smaller landings are available upstream between Highway 9 and Red Bluff Road for those seeking alternative access points.
