About This Access Site
Red Bluff Reservoir on the Pecos River offers boat access right at the Texas-New Mexico border near Loving, New Mexico. This 11,193-acre reservoir, created by Red Bluff Dam, provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and paddling in a relatively clear water body with a maximum depth of 77 feet. The access site is free with no advance reservation required, and there is a 14-day stay limit for camping in the area.

**Access Details:** From Loving, NM, take US Highway 285 South for 21.2 miles, then turn left on Catfish Road and continue 2.7 miles to reach the Pecos River. Note that this site has no paved boat ramp—boats are launched directly from the shore. Paddlers and boaters should be prepared for primitive launching conditions. The area supports various recreation activities including camping, picnicking, fishing, and wildlife observation across the surrounding Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area.
