About This Access Site
Red Bluff Reservoir, located on the Pecos River at the Texas-New Mexico border in Reeves County, offers boat access to an 11,193-acre reservoir created by Red Bluff Dam. This access point features a **natural shore launch rather than a paved ramp**, so boaters should be prepared to launch directly from the bank. The reservoir has a maximum depth of 77 feet with generally clear water and experiences approximately 8 feet of annual water level fluctuation. There is no entry fee for use of this facility.

**To reach the access site from Loving, New Mexico, head south on US Highway 285 for 21.2 miles, then turn left onto Catfish Road and continue 2.7 miles to the Pecos River.** Alternatively, turn east at the Historical Marker on US 285. The area supports a variety of recreational activities including boating, fishing, camping, and picnicking. With a 14-day stay limit, this is a good option for paddlers and boaters seeking access to the Pecos River and the expansive Red Bluff Reservoir. For specific facility questions, contact the Red Bluff Water Control District at 575-234-5972.
