The Redwood boat ramp provides access to the Yazoo River, a major tributary of the Mississippi River in west-central Mississippi. This public access site is suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats.
The Yazoo River in this area is a slow-moving, meandering waterway surrounded by wooded floodplains. Paddlers can explore the river and its backwater tributaries, keeping an eye out for diverse wildlife like herons, egrets, and alligators. Downstream, the river joins the Mississippi River about 3.2 miles from the Redwood ramp. Paddlers can also head upstream for about 1.2 miles to reach the boat ramp at the Vicksburg Cityfront.
This access point is managed by the Warren County Board of Supervisors. Facilities may be limited, so paddlers should come prepared with any necessary supplies and equipment. Before visiting, it's recommended to check for any updates or closures on the status of the Redwood boat ramp.
