The Renick access point offers a concrete boat ramp onto the Greenbrier River in central West Virginia. This location serves as a convenient put-in or take-out for paddlers exploring this popular paddling destination. The ramp provides direct water access, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats.
The Greenbrier River in this section is primarily moving water with some Class I-II rapids, making it accessible to intermediate paddlers. The river features relatively shallow water in the Renick area, which is popular for swimming as well. For current water conditions, check the Buckeye gage (upstream) rather than the bridge abutment markers for the most accurate river elevation readings. Greenbrier River Campground, located between Fort Spring and Alderson, offers shuttle services, boat rentals, and camping if you're planning a longer paddling trip.
As with all West Virginia public access sites, be sure to review state requirements and prohibitions before your visit. This section of river provides a good intermediate paddling experience with scenic surroundings typical of the Greenbrier valley.
