About This Access Site
The Resort access point on Goose Lake in Stanchfield offers a DNR-operated boat ramp providing public access to this two-basin lake in Chisago County. This is the primary public launch for accessing both the upper and lower portions of Goose Lake via the Goose Lake Narrows. The site is suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats of various sizes.

Paddlers should be aware that the narrows connecting the upper and lower basins may have restricted passage during low water periods, and medium-sized boat passage is generally possible except in these conditions. Winter access can be limited due to unsafe ice conditions near the bridge area. The south basin is notably larger and deeper, offering better winter oxygen levels if pursuing the lake's managed walleye and black crappie fishery. Be sure to review current fishing regulations, including the 5-fish crappie bag limit and 17-inch minimum length for walleye.
