This Anoka County-operated boat launch provides public access to Peltier Lake, the starting point for the scenic Rice Creek Water Trail. Located adjacent to the dam outlet in the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park, this access point is ideal for kayakers and canoeists looking to paddle a relatively motor-boat-free environment. From here, paddlers can explore the first 7 miles of the water trail, which flows through five connected lakes before narrowing into Rice Creek on its eventual path toward the Mississippi River.
The park offers diverse paddling opportunities across varying habitats and backdrops. Beyond the main Peltier Lake launch, additional creek crossings and access points are available near Hodgson Road, Lexington Avenue, County Road I, and County Road J for those exploring different sections of the water trail. The reserve features amenities including picnic areas, trails, and a nearby nature center, making it a well-rounded destination for a full day of paddling and recreation.
