Rice Lake

Rice Lake offers a convenient paved boat ramp access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters in Fulton County. The ramp is privately owned but maintained for public use through the Rice Lake Area Association (RLAA). With 15 miles of shoreline, the lake provides ample paddling opportunities and is well-regarded for fishing, making it an attractive destination for multi-purpose recreation.

The area sits near two significant wildlife refuges—Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge and Chautauqua National Wildlife Refuge—which protect important migratory bird habitats at the confluence of the Illinois and Spoon Rivers.
