Rice Lake

Rice Lake is an 859-acre lake in the Hatley area offering a public boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The lake has a maximum depth of 19 feet and provides a moderately sized paddling destination suitable for various skill levels. The water body supports a healthy fishery including musky, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, making it popular for both paddling and fishing activities.

The access site is located at or near Veterans Memorial Park on Orchard Beach Lane on Lower Rice Lake. This community park is fully ADA accessible and includes amenities such as restrooms, parking, picnic shelters, and grills—convenient facilities for a full day of paddling or boating. Before visiting, check local conditions and consider wind direction, as larger lakes can develop challenging conditions during windy weather.
