About This Access Site
Richardson Landing is a boat ramp access point on the Pearl River near Bogalusa, Louisiana, located approximately 3.5 miles downstream from the Pearl River Bridge on Highway 10. The ramp provides launch access to this major river system in Washington Parish County.

The Pearl River is a substantial waterway—a major river (Stream Order 8) with a total length of 435 miles and significant flow averaging over 13,000 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for moderate current with an average velocity of 3.71 feet/second and be aware that water levels can vary considerably. The river eventually flows to the Gulf of Mexico, offering opportunities for both day trips and longer expeditions. The area is near the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, which straddles the Louisiana-Mississippi border and provides scenic paddling opportunities.

Before launching, check current water conditions and flow rates, as the Pearl River's substantial discharge means it can have strong currents, particularly during high water periods. Be aware that this is an active transportation corridor for motorized vessels. Nearby alternatives include the high-water ramp east of Angie (27 miles downstream) and the renovated Middle River boat launch in the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area.
