About This Access Site
Richardson's Pole Slide is a well-maintained public boat ramp providing access to the Siuslaw River near Walton in Lane County. The ramp is approximately 20 feet wide and suitable for most small to medium-sized watercraft, making it a practical launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring this section of the river.

**Getting There:** From Veneta, travel 23.3 miles to Richardson Bridge over the Siuslaw River. Cross the bridge, turn left onto Old Stagecoach Road, and continue 0.3 miles to the ramp on the left side. The site is located just off Highway 34, making it relatively accessible.

**Nearby Resources:** The area offers additional recreation opportunities including the Old Growth Ridge National Recreation Trail (located at nearby Whittaker Creek Campground with a steep 750-foot elevation gain), and Archie Knowles Campground is within 10 miles. For paddlers seeking a developed launch alternative, Linslaw Park is another Lane County-operated boat launch on the Siuslaw River.
