**Location & Facilities**
Richland Creek Access provides a convenient launch point into Lake Hartwell, located southwest of Anderson off US Highway 29. The site features a single-lane boat ramp, courtesy dock, and paved parking area. A $3 launch fee applies. The ramp is part of Sadlers Creek State Park and offers year-round access, though the park itself operates seasonally (April 1 - September 9).
**Water Conditions & Character**
This access point opens onto Lake Hartwell, one of the most popular Corps of Engineers reservoirs in the nation. The impoundment sits on the Savannah River, a major waterway with significant flow (averaging over 12,800 cubic feet per second) and a moderate gradient of 2.2 feet per mile. Paddlers should be prepared for the characteristics of a large reservoir system. Nearby camping is available at Lake Hartwell Camping and Cabins.
**Planning Your Visit**
With 34 total boat ramps across Lake Hartwell, Richland Creek is one of many launch options if conditions or crowds at this location aren't suitable. The single-lane ramp is best suited for smaller groups or individual launches. Check current water levels and seasonal conditions before planning your trip, as reservoir levels can fluctuate significantly.
