About This Access Site
Located in Slidell near the Rigolets Bridge, this Lake Pontchartrain boat ramp offers convenient access to one of the region's most popular water bodies. The facility features two concrete back-down ramps and ample parking, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Note that this is a paid launch, so plan accordingly before arriving.

This access point is ideally positioned for exploring the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain, an expansive estuary rather than a true lake. Paddlers launching here can access diverse habitats and enjoy scenic views, particularly at sunset from the bridge. The nearby Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge and Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge offer excellent paddling opportunities, while the Point marina is just a 5-minute boat ride away for those seeking additional services. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway provides 50 feet of clearance for boats heading south, making this launch a good starting point for exploring various areas of the estuary.
