About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** The John Wilson Memorial Boat Ramp is located at 46 Brigham Hill Road in Aitkin, providing public access to Ripple Lake, a 630-acre lake in scenic Aitkin County about five miles south of Aitkin. The ramp accommodates boats up to 12-18 feet, with adequate parking available. There are no launch fees unless a vehicle permit is required (check locally for any park-specific regulations).

**Paddling & Boating Conditions:** Ripple Lake offers good opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating with a maximum depth of 39 feet. The lake is part of the lower Ripple River chain, with public access also available in the outlet channel downstream from the lake. **Winter note:** Motor vehicle access to the outlet channel is not recommended during winter due to flowing water conditions.

**What to Expect:** This is a straightforward public access point suitable for day trips and recreational boating. The site is relatively small (0.8 acres at the ramp itself) with no marked trails, so plan accordingly for parking during busy periods. The lake is popular with anglers, so you may encounter fishing activity.
