About This Access Site
River Forks is a public boat ramp and access site located on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia. Situated on the Chattahoochee River, this facility provides convenient water access for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.

The ramp is part of the larger River Forks recreation area, which includes a campground and other day-use amenities managed by Hall County Parks and Leisure. While not officially reservable, the boat ramp and surrounding grounds are open to the public. Visitors should note that there is a $7 fee to use the boat ramp.

Lake Lanier is a massive impoundment of the Chattahoochee River, offering over 38,000 acres of navigable waters for recreational boating. The river downstream from the access site is generally wide, slow-moving, and well-suited for casual paddling trips. Boaters should be aware of typical lake conditions, including wind, waves, and boat traffic, when launching from River Forks.
