About This Access Site
The River Ramp Road boat launch provides direct access to the Kenai River, a large and scenic waterway in Kenai, Alaska. As a 6th-order stream, the Kenai River is a substantial river system, draining over 2,100 square miles with an average flow of 1,065 cubic feet per second and a total drop of 410 feet along its 97-mile length.

This boat ramp is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats to explore the Kenai River. The ramp is located just off the Kenai Spur Highway, about 1.6 miles south of milepost 10.8. The launch site is part of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, an expansive protected area known for its abundant wildlife and outdoor recreation opportunities. Paddlers interested in floating the upper Kenai River can also access the river from the Kenai Lake Boat Ramp, which is located at the outlet of Kenai Lake.
