**Location & Facilities**
River Road provides boat access to the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, with a large gravel parking lot located about 1/4 mile from the road entrance. The access ramp is situated on the east side of the lot and operates 24/7. The ramp is 30 feet wide with a 15% slope, suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The site includes 26 acres of flood plain forest and is regularly patrolled by Johnson County park rangers.
**River Character & Paddling**
The Cedar River is a substantial waterway spanning approximately 300 miles total, with this access point located near Cedar Rapids where the river eventually joins the Iowa River on its way to the Mississippi. The area provides good paddling opportunities for both kayakers and canoeists. Additional boat ramps are available at various points upstream and downstream along the Cedar River, including Cedar Valley access at County Road X-40, giving paddlers flexibility for different trip distances and takeout points.
