About This Access Site
The Riverside boat ramp in Fries, Virginia provides direct public access to the mighty New River. This major waterway is over 800 miles long and drains an expansive 14,230 square mile watershed. With an average flow of 12,440 cubic feet per second and a gradient of 6.3 feet per mile, the New River offers an excellent paddling and boating experience.

The boat ramp allows easy put-in access to a wide, deep stretch of the river.
