Riverside Park offers a well-developed boat ramp with excellent amenities located just 8 miles north of downtown Mauston. The facility features good parking, bathrooms, and shower facilities, making it a convenient launch point for paddlers accessing both the Lemonweir River and Decorah Lake. Note that the park doubles as an RV campground, so expect moderate to busy conditions, particularly during peak seasons and weekends.
From this access point, paddlers can explore both upstream on the Lemonweir River and downstream toward Decorah Lake. In windy conditions, stay close to the right bank along Highway 12/16 and hug the western shoreline when paddling onto Lake Decorah for calmer water. The area is popular with anglers targeting northern pike, sturgeon, muskie, panfish, and trout, so be prepared to encounter fishing activity both from shore and on the water.
