About This Access Site
Riverside Park offers barrier-free access to the Grand River in Grand Rapids, located just five minutes north of downtown. The launch provides an excellent entry point for kayakers and canoeists, with a barrier-free boat launch and accessible fishing dock. The access area extends more than 50 yards along the water, and paddlers can launch directly into a connected lagoon that feeds into the Grand River.

The site features several amenities for visitors, including accessible picnic facilities and restrooms. A motor vehicle permit is required at the boat launch during the peak season from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Fishing is also permitted along the riverbank and pond edges. For those exploring the Grand River by paddle, Riverside Park serves as a convenient starting point for accessing the Middle Grand River Heritage Water Trail and is one of several accessible launches available in the area.
