Riverside Park in Palmetto offers excellent public access to the Manatee River with a modern, well-maintained facility designed to accommodate multiple users. The ramp features three launch lanes with improved flow and a non-floating courtesy dock, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site includes parking for approximately 35 vehicles (18 dedicated boat trailer spaces plus additional nearby parking), trash receptacles, and a designated hand-launch area ideal for paddlers. However, note that restroom facilities are not available on-site.
The location provides easy access to expansive paddling opportunities, including Palma Sola Bay, Anna Maria Sound, Tampa Bay, and beyond to the Gulf of Mexico. This makes it a versatile launching point for day trips on calmer bay waters or extended coastal adventures. The facility was recently expanded and upgraded through a regional partnership (Tampa Bay Estuary Program, Palmetto CRA, and other agencies) and is considered one of the premier boat ramps in Manatee County. Whether you're hand-launching a kayak for a morning paddle or launching a larger vessel, Riverside Park is a reliable, accessible entry point to the lower Manatee River system.
