About This Access Site
Located in Yankton, South Dakota, Riverside Park offers public boat launch access to Lewis and Clark Lake and the Missouri River. This facility is part of the larger Lewis and Clark Lake recreation area, which straddles the South Dakota/Nebraska border at Gavins Point Dam. The ramp provides convenient access to paddlers and boaters exploring the scenic Missouri River corridor in this region.

The park is easily accessed from downtown Yankton via 2nd Street east to Pearl Street, then south to the river. While camping is not permitted at Riverside Park itself, primitive camping is available a few hundred yards downstream near Marne Creek (foot access only). Nearby camping options include Pierson Ranch Camp and Green Island Primitive Camping, both within 10 miles. The area is also close to the Missouri National Recreational River, a 100-mile stretch of pristine waterway showcasing the character of the untamed Missouri River.

This is a non-reservable public access point managed as part of the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center recreation area. Paddlers should plan accordingly for the Missouri River's conditions and be prepared for the powerful flow characteristic of North America's longest river.
