About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Riverview Park Boat Ramp is located in North Augusta on Hammonds Ferry Road and provides convenient public access to the Savannah River. The facility features a hard-surface boat ramp, floating dock, paved parking, and two fishing piers—making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats alike.

**River Character:** The Savannah River at this location is a major river system (8th-order stream) with substantial flow averaging over 12,800 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should expect moderate current and a river width and volume typical of a mature, navigable waterway. The river supports diverse fish species including largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and bream, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers.

**Nearby Attractions:** The North Augusta area offers additional recreation opportunities, including the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area just across the state line in Georgia—a historic waterway built in 1845 that offers its own paddling and heritage exploration opportunities for those interested in extending their visit.
