About This Access Site
The Road Canyon Reservoir State Wildlife Area offers a small, concrete boat ramp with parking for vehicles and trailers. Located about halfway up the western shore of the 177-acre reservoir, this access site provides a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.

The reservoir is regularly stocked with catchable rainbow trout and also supports a natural population of brook trout, making it a popular destination for anglers. Boating is permitted, but restricted to wakeless speeds. Trolling motors are allowed, but larger outboards are not recommended due to the reservoir's size. Visitors should bring their own gear, as there are no rentals or supplies available on-site.

The nearest campground is Bristol Head Campground, located about 10 miles away. Overnight camping is not permitted along the reservoir shoreline or in the boat ramp area. Visitors should check current regulations and be prepared for high-altitude conditions, as the reservoir sits at an elevation between 9,275 and 9,334 feet.
