About This Access Site
**Overview & Access**
Robert L. Nance Park offers a convenient boat launch onto Black Bayou Lake, a 700-acre reservoir in Hosston, Northern Caddo Parish. The park's access road descends steeply to the southeastern end of the lake, where you'll find a large parking area, a boat ramp, and a portable toilet that remains accessible even when main facilities are closed.

**Facilities & Recreation**
This 20-acre park is well-equipped for paddlers and anglers alike, with a long fishing/observation pier, covered picnic areas, and a nature trail boardwalk that winds through the surrounding bottomlands. The wildlife pier extends into the lake itself, making it an excellent spot for observing waterfowl and wildlife, particularly during winter months. Restrooms and additional amenities are available at the main park area.

**Getting There**
Note that an alternative public boat ramp option exists along Old Palmetto Road if you wish to avoid park entry fees. The lake's calm, protected waters make it suitable for kayaking and canoeing, and the accessible facilities here make Robert L. Nance Park a reliable choice for launching paddling adventures.
