About This Access Site
Roberts Bay East is a free, day-use boat ramp on Prineville Reservoir managed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Located in Juniper Canyon near Prineville, this access point offers a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats on the reservoir. The facility provides direct water access with a dedicated boat ramp and includes amenities such as a fishing pier and fish cleaning station. Nearby, you'll find 32 boat moorages and a roped-off swimming area if desired.

This is a day-use-only facility with no overnight camping allowed. There are no fees to launch. The area is open year-round, though potable water is not available on-site—the nearest source is at Chimney Rock Campground, 2.1 miles west on Highway 27. For those planning an extended trip, several campgrounds operate within 10 miles, including Palisades, Poison Butte, and Post Pile Campgrounds. Roberts Bay East is one of six official boat ramps on Prineville Reservoir, making it a solid option for quick access to the water in eastern Oregon's Columbia Plateau region.
