Rock Creek West provides convenient access to Rock Creek Lake in Oakland Acres, Jasper County. The ramp features a hard surface launch suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. A 5 mph speed limit applies throughout the lake, making it ideal for paddlesports and leisurely boating. The site includes amenities such as restrooms, picnic areas, and nearby accessible fishing opportunities, including an ADA-accessible fishing pier at the adjacent beach area.
The lake offers excellent infrastructure for water recreation, with boat and paddlesport rentals available through the park concessionaire, along with bait and snacks. Several jetties around the lake provide additional access points, and boat slip rentals are available seasonally (April 15–October 15). The surrounding area features 8.5 miles of multi-use, non-paved trails around the lake perimeter, making it a good destination for combined paddling and hiking trips. A full-service campground with electrical hookups is adjacent to the access point, providing convenient overnight accommodations for visitors.
