Rock Lake

Rock Lake's public boat ramp is located on the east side of the lake in Detroit Lakes, Becker County, providing convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The facility accommodates 7-8 vehicle/trailer combinations and can launch boats up to 12-18 feet, making it suitable for a variety of watercraft. There are no launch fees at this location.

**Before paddling Rock Lake**, be aware that the small 1,124-acre watershed is primarily agricultural, which affects water quality. The lake typically has poor clarity with an average visibility of just 3.3 feet. This makes it best suited for paddlers comfortable with murky water conditions and those focusing on wildlife viewing or fishing rather than scenic underwater exploration. The nearby Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District and Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge offer additional paddling opportunities in the area if you're looking for alternative destinations.
