About This Access Site
Rockcliff Lake is a scenic 17-acre reservoir located in George Washington National Forest near Rockland, Hardy County, offering a peaceful paddling destination for kayakers and canoeists. The boat ramp provides vehicle access to this intimate lake, which features dramatic cliff formations and a white-sand swimming beach. The calm waters make this an ideal spot for recreational paddling, fishing, and leisurely exploration of the shoreline.

The Trout Pond Recreation Area surrounds the lake and includes a full day-use facility with showers, picnic areas, and a trail that circumnavigates the entire lake—providing excellent opportunities to combine paddling with hiking and bank fishing. All types of boating are permitted on the water.
