Rocky Point Boat Launch

Rocky Point is a convenient public boat launch providing access to Upper Klamath Lake and Recreation Creek, located approximately 30 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls. The launch accommodates both trailered and non-trailered boats, making it accessible for kayakers, canoeists, and other watercraft. To reach the ramp, take Oregon Highway 140 west from Klamath Falls toward Medford for about 25 miles, then turn right onto Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway/West Side Road and follow for 3 miles before turning onto Rocky Point Road.

The site provides excellent access to Upper Klamath Lake's peaceful waters, which are surrounded by the Fremont National Forest and towering Ponderosa pine trees. Paddlers can explore the scenic Upper Klamath Canoe Trail, a 9.5-mile route through a 15,000-acre marsh and wetland complex within the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. For shorter paddles, Recreation Creek offers an approximately five-mile paddle to Malone Springs. The area operates seasonally from April 1 through November 1, and nearby camping options include the Fourmile Lake Campground and Rocky Point Resort.
