About This Access Site
The Rocky Point Recreation Area provides a convenient boat ramp and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters on West Point Lake. This large reservoir on the Chattahoochee River offers over 40 square miles of water to explore.

The boat ramp at Rocky Point is open year-round, with a fishing pier and picnic sites also available. This federal recreation area is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and offers seasonal swimming during the summer months. Paddlers and boaters can use the ramp to access the scenic Chattahoochee River and explore West Point Lake's many coves and tributaries, which are popular for fishing.

While Rocky Point is an unstaffed facility, the Corps of Engineers can be contacted at the nearby main office for general information. Boaters should be prepared for typical lake conditions, including wind and boat traffic. Those new to the area may want to consult maps or guides to familiarize themselves with the lake's layout and navigational hazards before heading out.
