About This Access Site
The Rodman Recreation Area boat ramp provides direct access to Rodman Reservoir and the barge canal system. This two-lane paved ramp is located within the Lake Delancy West Campground (a reservable federal facility) and accommodates both large and small vessels. The site includes paved parking, potable water, picnic pavilions, and restroom facilities, making it a well-developed launch point for boaters and anglers.

Paddlers should be aware that water conditions vary seasonally—the reservoir typically drops seven feet below normal water level from mid-November through early March, during which time temporary launches are available at Kenwood Landing and Orange Springs for access to the barge canal and river channel. The current can be quite fast near the campground ramp, so kayakers and canoeists may prefer launching from the dam area instead, which offers calmer conditions for paddling. The lower Oklawaha River below Rodman Dam extends approximately 8 miles downstream to its confluence with the St. Johns River.
