Roosevelt Lake - 4 is a boat ramp access point on Roosevelt Lake, an expansive reservoir on the Salt River in Gila County, Arizona. This major waterway offers substantial paddling and boating opportunities, with the Salt River system spanning 194 miles and draining a 12,236 square-mile watershed. The lake itself provides a scenic setting in the Sonoran Desert region, with nearby attractions including Tonto National Monument and its historic cliff dwellings.
The access site is conveniently located near Roosevelt town and is one of several launch points around the lake. Roosevelt Marina, located beside the nearby Tonto Basin Ranger District office, provides services and additional resources for boaters. Multiple campgrounds are available within 10 miles, including Burnt Corral, Schoolhouse, and Frazier Group Campgrounds (all reservable), making it easy to plan a multi-day paddling trip. For detailed maps and current conditions, contact the Tonto Basin Ranger District office.
From Phoenix, take US 60 east toward Globe/Miami, then head north on Highway 188 for approximately 20 miles to reach the area. The ramp is located 1.5 miles north of Roosevelt on AZ 288, just after crossing the Salt River Bridge. Alternative launch sites around the lake include Schoolhouse Point (popular for its large ramp and facilities), Indian Point, Cholla, Windy Hill, and Grapevine Group sites.
