Rose Valley Lake is a 389-acre reservoir in Calvert, Lycoming County, managed by the PA Fish and Boat Commission. The access site features three well-maintained concrete boat launch ramps with associated parking facilities accommodating approximately 50 vehicles. All three launch areas are suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and unpowered boats, making this an accessible option for paddlers of various skill levels.
Electric and unpowered boats are permitted on the lake. If you're planning to moor an unpowered boat overnight, registration is required, and mooring is available from March 1 through November 30. The lake's relatively developed shoreline—with 68% within 305 feet of a road or access area—means multiple pulloff points for parking and recreation. Rose Valley Lake is known as an excellent birding destination year-round and attracts paddlers and observers particularly during storm seasons when migratory birds concentrate on the water.
