Rosebud East is a public boat launch providing access to the Yellowstone River near Forsyth in Rosebud County, Montana. This is a functional ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats, located just yards from the water. The site features basic amenities including toilets and water access, making it convenient for day trips on the river.
The ramp itself can be somewhat variable depending on water levels. During high water periods, you can launch directly at the access point, but as water levels drop you may need to cross a small channel to reach deeper water. Note that both electrical pedestals on-site share breaker controls—if one isn't functioning, check the breaker box on the other pedestal. The site has difficult ADA accessibility.
Rosebud East permits camping with a fee and a 7-day stay limit, available seasonally from May 15 to November 1, with accommodations for camp trailers. Fishing access to the Yellowstone River is open year-round. This is a reliable access point for paddlers and boaters looking to reach this section of the river.
