The site includes amenities such as toilet facilities and a floating dock system to assist with launching and retrieving vessels. This is an ocean-based access point on the Atlantic, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats.

**Navigation considerations**: Approach the harbor from the south by setting a course of approximately 19 degrees magnetic for 1 mile from green can buoy 9 (at Poland Ledge) to green can buoy 1 at the harbor entrance. Exercise caution at the northeast and southwest ends of Round Pond Harbor (give a 350-yard berth) and the west side (200-yard berth). Water depths at the entrance and inside the harbor range from 9 to 17 feet, with the northern side offering the best depths for navigation.

The surrounding area offers additional recreational opportunities including swimming, bank fishing, hiking on footpaths, and wildlife viewing. Franklin Island National Wildlife Refuge is nearby and accessible for exploration by water. The facility is managed by the Town of Livermore and is maintained for long-term public access.
