Runaway Branch No. 1 is a boat access site located along the Black Warrior River near Demopolis, Alabama. The site features a paved boat ramp and a parking area overlooking the river.

The Black Warrior River is a large, navigable waterway that flows for over 168 miles through western Alabama. With an average flow of over 10,000 cubic feet per second and a total elevation drop of 182 feet, it provides good conditions for powered boating, canoeing, and kayaking. The section near Runaway Branch No. 1 has an average gradient of 1.1 feet per mile.

This access point is part of the larger Runaway Branch recreation area, which also includes a more park-like setting with camping and picnicking facilities to the south.
