Sabine Pass

Sabine Pass provides convenient public boat access near Port Arthur in Jefferson County. Located off FM 1794 (take US-80 east approximately 19 miles, then turn left on FM 1794), this ramp offers year-round access to Sabine Pass, Sabine Lake, and the nearby Gulf of Mexico. The facility includes a boat ramp and parking area, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized vessels of various sizes.

This access point is particularly popular during spring white bass spawning runs, when fish congregate in good numbers, especially below the Black Shoals area when water levels restrict upstream migration. The location also provides opportunities to explore nearby Texas Point National Wildlife Refuge and McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge, both important habitats for waterfowl and wintering wildlife.
