About This Access Site
Salmon Harbor - East Basin is a well-developed boat ramp facility located in Winchester Bay on the Oregon Coast, accessible via Highway 101 in Douglas County. The site features two launch ramps and serves as the primary access point for Winchester Bay, a scenic coastal waterway. The harbor offers 550 moorage slips and full marina services, including a fuel dock with non-ethanol premium fuel at the west end launch. This makes it an excellent departure point for kayakers and boaters heading into Winchester Bay and surrounding coastal waters.

The facility is situated within a working marine harbor with shore power, domestic water, concrete and wood docks, and additional launching services including sling and crane options for larger vessels. The immediate area is well-serviced with marine businesses catering to boaters' needs. For paddlers planning extended trips, several campgrounds are located within 10 miles, including Umpqua Sand Camping, Spinreel Sand Camping, and Tahkenitch Campground—all reservable options that provide convenient overnight accommodations. The combination of reliable infrastructure and nearby camping makes this an ideal base for exploring Winchester Bay and the surrounding coastal region.
