About This Access Site
Salo Lake is a scenic 141-acre lake in St. Louis County offering a concrete boat ramp and dock for convenient water access. Located about 25 miles southeast of Hoyt Lakes near Brimson, the site includes a picnic area and parking. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 20 feet, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small to medium-sized motorboats. There are no launch fees at this public access point.

The quiet lake is popular with anglers targeting panfish, bass, walleye, and northern pike, and is well-suited for paddlers seeking a peaceful paddling experience. Most standard trailered boats can be launched here, though it's advisable to check current conditions before your visit. From Hoyt Lakes, take Highway 110 east for 13 miles, turn left on County Highway 16 for 7.5 miles, then right on Highway 44 for 4.5 miles, and finally left onto Salo Lake Road to reach the access site.
