Sand Point

Sand Point provides a concrete boat ramp for accessing Lower Prior Lake in Scott County, Minnesota. The site features a poured in-place concrete ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. Note that vehicle-and-trailer parking is not available at the City parking lot at Sand Point Beach; however, a DNR parking lot is located adjacent to the boat access, and additional parking is available in designated areas around Sand Point Beach.

Lower Prior Lake offers paddlers and boaters access to a scenic water body in a region rich with natural areas. The nearby Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and Minnesota Valley Wetland Management District provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and exploration. Before your visit, confirm current parking arrangements and any applicable fees or season pass options, as access policies may vary seasonally.
