Sanders Cove Campground offers convenient boat ramp access to Pat Mayse Lake, a 6,000-acre reservoir in the Red River Basin near Powderly, Texas. The facility features two concrete boat ramps—one 1-lane and one 2-lane—providing easy launch options for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. With 67 miles of shoreline to explore, the lake offers ample paddling opportunities through gently rolling terrain dotted with mixed hardwood forests and mature pines.

The campground is a full-service facility with amenities including flush toilets, showers, drinking water, and a dump station, making it ideal for day trips or extended stays. While primarily a campground with 85 sites available for reservation, it welcomes day-use visitors accessing the water. From Paris, TX, take Highway 271 north 12 miles to FM 906 west, then follow County Road 35920 into the park. The lake provides excellent opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing. Anglers fish for largemouth bass, white crappie, sunfish, striped bass and channel and flathead catfish, among other species.

Hunting is a very popular activity in the area. The surrounding lands are managed for upland game and whitetail deer. Other species present include fox squirrel, gray squirrel, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, cottontail rabbit, raccoon and fox. Opossum, beaver, mink, skunk and nutria are also present.

The lake also provides resting and feeding habitat for migratory waterfowl. A few miles north of the project area are the famed Red River Bottoms where waterfowl congregate in impressive numbers.Facilities
