About This Access Site
Santa Margarita Lake is a picturesque reservoir in the rolling oak woodlands of San Luis Obispo County, California. The lake offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and small boat recreation.

The park features a well-maintained boat ramp with ample parking for vehicles and trailers. Two boarding floats provide easy access to launch your watercraft. The lake itself is a medium-sized body of water, making it suitable for both casual paddling and motor boating. Anglers will find a variety of fish species including bass, catfish, and crappie.

While swimming in the lake is not permitted, the park offers a swimming pool for visitors to cool off. Camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing round out the recreational activities available at this peaceful, nature-oriented destination. Boaters and paddlers will appreciate the serene setting and ample launch facilities at Santa Margarita Lake.
