Located in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Juniper Park provides access to Santa Rosa Lake via a **four-lane boat ramp** suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized vessels. The lake impounds the Pecos River approximately 121 miles east of Albuquerque in the semiarid upper Pecos River valley. This is a non-reservable day-use facility, making it convenient for casual paddling outings. The park elevation sits at 4,751 feet, and water levels typically reach optimum conditions (4,712 ft) in late May and early June, when the northern end of the lake provides access to scenic Pecos River Canyon paddling.
Both motorized and non-motorized boating are permitted on Santa Rosa Lake. The facility includes courtesy docks with a 10-minute tie-up limit. Rocky Point Campground is located nearby (within 10 miles) for those planning overnight trips. The larger Santa Rosa Lake State Park facility nearby offers additional amenities including visitor center, developed campsites, showers, restrooms, and dump stations, making it a good base for extended paddling adventures.
