Santee State Park offers convenient access to Lake Marion via two boat ramps on opposite sides of the park. The primary single-lane ramp includes paved parking for 50 vehicles and trailers, while a secondary two-lane ramp provides additional capacity with parking for 9 vehicles and trailers. This makes the site suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to launch on this expansive lake in Orangeburg County.
The park's 2,500-acre property sits minutes from the lakefront community and provides paddlers with a well-developed access point to explore Lake Marion's waters. In addition to the boat ramps, the park features two fishing piers and other amenities, making it a comfortable base for a day on the water. The nearby Santee National Wildlife Refuge (15,000 acres) offers additional paddling and nature exploration opportunities in the region.
