About This Access Site
Frank Walker Landing provides boat ramp access to the upper east reaches of Sardis Lake and the Little Tallahatchie River, conveniently located adjacent to MS Highway 7 near Abbeville in Lafayette County. Day-use passes (both daily and annual options) are required for access to the ramp and recreation areas. This is an excellent put-in for exploring Sardis Lake, known for its sandy beaches and strong fishing opportunities, with Oak Grove Campground available within 10 miles for overnight trips.

The Little Tallahatchie River is a significant waterway with an average flow of approximately 4,600 cubic feet per second and an average gradient of 3.4 feet per mile. Before paddling or boating, check current spillway conditions and flow rates by calling (662) 563-4531 or consulting the Vicksburg District Daily River Bulletin, as gate openings can significantly affect water levels and conditions. This major river system drains 2,556 square miles and extends 117 miles, so conditions can change rapidly depending on dam operations.
